I'm Sandra Simões. Since childhood, I've always been attracted to the world of art. Colours, shapes and textures ​fascinated me. I would observe objects carefully, puzzling over their construction, taking them apart to understand their ​secrets, giving them a second life, full of new meanings... However, this remained a latent passion when I followed the ​professional path of Communication Design...

In 2014, a kind of "astral" conjuncture brought together the conditions to let my drive "breathe" and Dekoque was born, ​the name under which I initialise my work.

In an exercise of total freedom, experimentation, reflection and search, I cross techniques, reinvent objects, recycle ​materials... From this "laboratory" my pieces are born, unique and different from one another...

The ultimate aim of my work does not end with the object, but with Communicating, seeking echoes, summoning ​reflection on the way and time in which we live...

I believe in art as an instrument of intervention and transformation...

The individual as a social and singular being, mental health, politics, justice, the environment, the economy and many ​other cross-cutting and contemporary themes are inspiration and, whenever possible, humour...
